A simple bookkeeping and sales-record system that helps Nigerian service businesses record transactions, track customer balances, issue receipts, and understand daily business performance.
Berlvis Books is a bookkeeping and sales-record platform designed for small service businesses that need clear financial records without the complexity of traditional accounting software. The product started with a practical problem: many business owners rely on notebooks, WhatsApp messages, bank alerts, and memory to track sales, customer payments, outstanding balances, and daily income. These records are often incomplete, difficult to review, and easy to lose. I planned and developed Berlvis Books around the language and routines business owners already understand. Users can record sales and expenses, add multiple products or services to a transaction, apply discounts and VAT, accept cash or transfer payments, link transactions to customers, and issue professional receipts. The customer ledger records balances and part payments, helping businesses see who still owes money and how previous payments were applied. Reports provide clear daily, weekly, and monthly views of business activity, with export options for PDF and Excel. The system also includes draft records, price lists, transaction history, controlled archiving, password recovery, secure account access, and database rules designed to preserve the accuracy of financial records. Berlvis Books demonstrates my ability to translate accounting requirements into a simpler product experience for business owners who are not accountants. The work covered product strategy, workflow design, interface design, database architecture, financial record integrity, testing, and production development.
